John Lyons Obituary, Death – On October 26, 2022, John “Terry” Lyons, 66, a resident of Springfield, passed away in a calm and uncomplicated manner. Terry Lyons was the son of Michael and Frances Lyons, both of Pittsburgh, who has since passed away. When Terry was still a little lad, he accomplished the requirements to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. His undergraduate education was completed at the University of Florida, and he went on to earn his master’s degree at St. Joseph’s University. After many years of service at Aqua as a Safety Administrator, Terry hung up his boots in 2017 and began his retirement.
He went to St. Francis of Assisi Parish on a consistent basis throughout his life. He took pleasure in the time he spent not just with his family but also with his friends. He was the definition of a beach bum, and he and his family made Ocean City their permanent summer residence. Terry has a strong appreciation for music, most notably that of the Grateful Dead. Attending air shows and working with wood in his workshop was a couple of his favorite things to do in his spare time. Beloved spouse of MaryAnn Lyons (née Dawson); devoted father to John (and his wife Lindsay), Katie (and her boyfriend Edwin), and Tom (and his girlfriend Dani); and affectionate grandfather to Eleanor Lyons.
His sisters Jan Fleckenstein and Sharon Paul are among those who have continued on after his passing. Michael Lyons and Patrick Lyons, two of his brothers, passed away before he did. He is also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews who loved him very much. On the morning of Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., the funeral mass for him will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, which is located at 136 Saxer Avenue, Springfield, Pennsylvania 19064. The visitation will take place on the same day at 9:00 a.m., and those who were close to him are encouraged to come.
Holy Cross Cemetery will be the location of his final resting place. Donations to the CADES (Children Adult Disability Educational Services) Art Program can be sent to 401 Rutgers Avenue, Swarthmore, Pennsylvania 19081 in place of flowers. CADES stands for Children Adult Disability Educational Services. The family would be extremely grateful for any aid they may receive.
