Harold Tucker Obituary, Death – Harold Ray Tucker Jr., who resided in Lynchburg, Tennessee, lost his life suddenly on Thursday, December 22, 2022. He was 59 years old at the time of his passing. Ray entered the world on March 7, 1963, and Winchester, Virginia was his birthplace. In the years 1984 to 1989, he proudly served his country in the Air Force of the United States of America. During that time period, he worked for Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems as the Director of Surgical Services for the organization. Prior to that, he worked at the Harton Regional Medical Center as a registered nurse and as the Director of Surgical Services from the year 1990 until 2018.
This position lasted until 2018. At the time, he was the proprietor of both the American Craft Distillery and the Lynchburg Winery. People who knew Ray characterized him as appearing “bigger than life,” and he was the type of person who never met a stranger. He was a devout follower of the Baptist religion and an active member of the Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church where he attended services regularly. His close friend Bill Smith and his father, Harold Ray Tucker Sr., both passed away before he did. His father was named Harold Ray Tucker. The passage of his life is a continuation of theirs.
Renea Tucker, Ray’s beloved wife of thirty-nine years, his children Alisha (David) Pace, Andrea (Joe) Long, and Ruslan Tucker (Haley Partin), his grandchildren Ashlyn Tucker, Emma Pace, Jace Long, and Jenna Long, and his mother Judy (Carey) Wofford will all remember Ray fondly. On September 15, 2018, Ray peacefully passed away. On January 7, 2022, from one to five in the afternoon, there will be a celebration in remembrance of the person who passed away that will take place at Lynchburg Winery. At the cemetery, there will be a funeral service that is more private and geared toward the immediate family.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of the person who passed away.
