Silva A. Trenholm Obituary, Silva A. Trenholm of Little Shemogue, NB, has died

Silva A. Trenholm Obituary, Death – On March 19, 1926, the world was blessed with the presence of Silva Audrey Trenholm. She had a long and fruitful life, reaching the age of 96 before her soul was called home on December 24, 2022 at the Moncton City Hospital. Her knowledge of life, her love of good food, her frugal nature, her ability to think in the long term, and her insistence on clinging to the unchanging hand of God all contributed to the enhancement of our lives.

Lawrence Trenholm, who passed away on December 28, 2014, was Silva’s spouse before he passed away. Silva was born in Murray Corner, New Brunswick, to parents Eileen (Trenholm) Pauley and Willis Pauley. Her mother’s maiden name was Trenholm. She was the only member of her immediate family that had made it this far. She was preceded in death by her siblings, including sisters Hazel, Ramona, and Agnes, as well as her parents, brothers Leslie, Hermon, Melton, Merville, Otis, and Levi who all passed away at a young age.

Silva’s two daughters, Ann (Earl) Pauley of Bunberry, Prince Edward Island, and Bonnie (Robert) Goodwin of Shediac Cape, New Brunswick, as well as her five grandchildren, Terry, Stacey, Jeffrey, Nathan, and Mark, as well as several other grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews, will miss her greatly.

After 40 years of service, Silva took his retirement from L.C. Trenholm Fisheries Inc. in the role of bookkeeper. Since the Ocean View Pentecostal Church’s early days, she served as the church’s acting treasurer, remaining in that role until the day she retired and the church abruptly shut its doors. Silva delighted in taking her grandsons, friends, and sisters out to restaurants and frequently extended invitations to do so. She never sat still for long.

The Jones Funeral Home in Port Elgin and Sackville, New Brunswick is in charge of the arrangements and will see to it that they are carried out properly (506-364-1300). At a later time, which will be announced later, there will be a funeral service and committal, which will be followed by the burial in the Fernwood Cemetery. Donations made in Silva’s honor can be sent to the donor’s favorite charitable organization of their choice.
