Matthias Wirtz Obituary, North Haven firefighter Matthias Wirtz has died

Matthias Wirtz Obituary, Death – This morning, December 26th, 2022, we were shocked to learn that North Haven firefighter Matthias Wirtz had been killed while performing his job duties. The news left us in a state of deep sadness. Our spirits were crushed when we heard the news. During this difficult time, we want his family, friends, and loved ones to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers. More than a dozen people were compelled to look for new places to live as a result of the fire that broke out at 27 Quinipiac Avenue and required the use of multiple alarms to put out.

Firefighter Wirtz and the other firefighters rushed to the scene as soon as they received the call about the fire. Wirtz experienced some difficulties while attempting to put out the fire and needed to be transported to Yale New Haven Hospital as a result of those difficulties. Regrettably, he did not pull through his time spent in the hospital and ended up passing away. We are asking everyone in our community to say prayers for Wirtz’s family as well as his extended firefighter family, who are mourning this terrible loss.

We know that they would appreciate your support. We have reason to believe that they would value having your assistance. Our courageous firefighters are currently grieving the loss of one of their own at a time when the holiday season is in full swing, when it is customary for families to get together to celebrate. At this time of year, it is common for families to get together to celebrate during this time of year. If you have any questions about what happened, please contact the Fire Headquarters.

We ask that the media respect the family’s right to privacy and direct any inquiries about this incident to them. I am appreciative of your willingness to cooperate. We would like to express our appreciation to the brave members of the North Haven Fire Department, who put their own lives in danger in order to save the lives of other people.
