Jesse Greer Obituary, Death – Jesse C. Greer, who was 77 years old, passed away  the McComb Nursing and Rehab facility. He called the town of McComb his home. His birth date is March 3, 1942, and Pike County was the location of his birth. His parents were Jesse L. and Mary Virginia Bardwell Greer, and he was their son. He was their only child. He made the decision to retire after working as a computer programmer for the McComb Public Schools for the previous 40 years, during which time he served the district faithfully.

In addition to that, he worked at the Summit location of Shooters Supplies on a part-time basis. He was a passionate collector of firearms in addition to being an enthusiastic fisherman and hunter. He was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Summit and served his country with distinction while enlisted in the United States Air Force. Before Mr. Greer was born, his parents, an infant brother named Charles, and two brothers named Otis Richard “Dicky” Greer all passed away.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mollie Pittman Greer of McComb; his son, David Greer (Kim), of Brookhaven; his daughter, Melanie Pickard (Terry), of Summit; three brothers, Bill Greer (Elizabeth) Greer of Athens, Georgia, Frank Greer (Peggy) Greer of McComb, and James H. “Jimmy” Greer (Laurie) Greer of Summit; four grandchildren, Hannah (Kot

On Wednesday, visitation will take place at the Sharkey Funeral Home from 6 PM to 8 PM. The funeral home can be found at 1023 Old Brookhaven Road in Summit, Mississippi 39666. On Thursday, visitation will begin at 10 AM and continue until the start of the funeral services at 11 AM. The funeral services themselves will begin at 11 AM. Both Dr. Larry LeBlanc and Dr. Victor Walsh will preside over the services as the officiating physicians. Following the funeral, the interment of the body will take place at a cemetery in Hollywood.
