Jay Mogler Obituary, Death – On Friday, December 16, 2022, Jay Allan Mogler, who was 67 years old and lived in Elk River, Minnesota, passed away. He was the son of Andy Mogler and Freida (Metzger) Mogler and was born on October 14, 1955, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Jay completed his high school education in Iowa at West Lyon and received his diploma in 1974. He continued his education by earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Technology from Northwest Iowa Technical College.
He then earned a Master of Arts in Management Administration from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. After starting his career at FMC in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jay went on to work for Mudd Cat in St. Louis Park, Caterpillar Paving Products in Osseo, and Minco in Fridley up until the month of March 2022, when he finally retired. Jay was successful in many endeavors throughout his life, but his most notable achievement was undoubtedly the successful upbringing of his two wonderful children.
In Winthrop, Minnesota, on July 23, 1977, Jay Mogler and Holly Nelson exchanged vows and became husband and wife. Luke and Morgan are the two children that they were given as a gift from God. Jay and his son Luke enjoyed going fishing and hunting together, and he especially treasured the time he got to spend with his family and friends, which allowed them to make a lot of memories. Jay was an incredibly dedicated and passionate man who put his whole heart into everything he did.
He worked very hard. His wit was unparalleled, and he took great pleasure in making those around him laugh and putting a smile on their faces through the telling of jokes. He had a profound impact on the lives of everyone who knew him and served as a guide for a great number of people. Jay was a devout man who devoted his life to serving our Lord and Savior, and he did so right up until the end of his life. Even though he is not here with us on earth anymore, we are confident that this is not the end, and that one day we will be able to welcome him back into our heavenly dwelling place.
His son, Luke Mogler, his parents, Andy and Freida Mogler, his niece, Elysia Mogler, his father-in-law, Alvin Nelson, and his sister-in-law, Candice Pederson all passed away before him. He is survived by his sister, Elysia Mogler. Jay is survived by his devoted wife, Holly Mogler, of Elk River; his daughter, Morgan (Race) Stamper of Monticello; his brothers, Russ (Linda) Mogler of Evergreen, CO, and Randy (Evie) Mogler of Peoria, IL; his mother-in-law, Donnabell Nelson of Winthrop; adoring nieces and nephews; and extended family, along with a large number of friends.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the River of Life Benevolent Ministry. This ministry provides financial support to people who are dealing with unforeseen circumstances. Visitation will be held at River of Life Ev. Free Church on Monday, December 26, 2022 from three in the afternoon until seven in the evening.
