Gerald Huss Obituary, Man Arrested for Christmas Eve Crash that Killed Three

Gerald Huss Obituary, Death – An accident that occurred on Christmas Eve night in Lewes resulted in the deaths of three people, including a child. After he fled the scene of the collision, Jason Wilcox, age 46, was taken into custody by Delaware State Police at his home in Millsboro on Sunday and charged with multiple felonies. Wilcox was taken to Troop 7 and charged with the following offenses after being taken into custody there:

Three counts of the felony offense of fleeing the scene of an accident that resulted in death. There are four counts of fleeing the scene of an accident that resulted in injuries. Wilcox was arraigned on a number of traffic charges before Justice of the Peace Court No. 3, and he was subsequently committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a cash bond of $18,500.

The three people who were killed in the accident have been identified as Gerald Huss, 74, of Lewes, Delaware; Jessica Guida, 35, of Temple, Pennsylvania; and Jovie Wright, 9, of Temple, Pennsylvania. All three people were residents of Temple.

According to the Lewes-Georgetown Highway (Route 9) accident report filed by the Delaware State Police, the collision took place at approximately 8:00 p.m. when a 2016 Land Rover that was traveling westbound on Route 9 approached Minos Conaway Road. A man from Temple, Pennsylvania, who was 42 years old, was the driver of a 2008 Honda Odyssey that was stopped for a stop sign on Minos Conaway Road as it traveled southbound toward the intersection of Lewes-Georgetown Highway.

According to the police, the Honda was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection when it pulled into the path of the Land Rover. This caused the front of the Land Rover to collide with the driver’s side of the Honda.

Before coming to a stop in the westbound lane, the Land Rover rotated in an anticlockwise direction while continuing to travel in the westbound direction. Following the collision, the Honda continued to rotate in a counterclockwise direction until it came to a stop in the eastbound lane.

The driver of the Honda, a 42-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital after the accident and treated for his minor injuries there. According to the police, a woman in her 30s from Temple, Pennsylvania, a girl of 9 years old from Temple, Pennsylvania, and a man in his 70s from Lewes, Delaware were all ejected and died at the scene of the accident.

Three additional passengers, a boy aged 12 years old, a boy aged 4 years old, and a woman aged 67 years old, were all taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. The driver of the Land Rover sped away from the accident scene as quickly as possible. The crash that occurred at the intersection of Lewes-Georgetown Highway and Minos Conaway Road was investigated and the roadway was cleared for approximately four hours while it was closed.
