Florence Signa Obituary, Death – This morning, on our Savior’s birthday, our beloved Aunt Florence flew with the Angels. Jesus waited for His special day to take her to Heaven to live with Him! Florentine Strazi Signa, or Aunt Florence to those who knew her, worked for more than 70 years to make Doe’s Eat Place what it is today. She began her career at Doe’s on the night of her first date with Big Doe’s brother, Frank “Jughead” Signa. That night, Uncle Jug had to shuck oysters while Aunt Florence made salads at Doe’s. She never missed a chance to describe how she couldn’t concentrate because Frank was so attractive. She couldn’t take her gaze away from him.
They later married, and she committed her life to improve Doe’s. She greeted every customer with a grin and a hug, whether they were a famous politician, a dazzling movie star, or an everyday person. If you visited Doe’s while Aunt Florence was working, you left a piece of the Doe’s family behind. She was a living example of Christ and His Church. Aunt Florence’s legacy will live on inside these walls every day as a committed wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. We will miss her every day of our lives. Aunt Florence, we adore you!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him may not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
