Barbara Alker Obituary, Death – It is with a sad heart that we must break the news to you that during the holiday season, our dear friend and fellow volunteer, Barbara Alker, passed away. Her passing came as a terrible blow to us, and it is during this time that we must break the news to you. The abruptness and suddenness of her leaving caught everyone off guard.
Throughout the course of her life, Barbara was an active member of a large number of our community organizations, including not only our Christmas club but also a considerable number of our other groups.
This category has a wide variety of organizations, some of which are A Crafty Cuppa, the Hindley Green Residents Association, and the Rayner Parks Friends Group, to name just a few examples. When we originally began our Christmas group, Barbara was one of the very first people to sign up to be a part of it.
There was never a time when I couldn’t reach either Barbara in her capacity as a counselor or her husband Eric, who was also very helpful to me on numerous occasions. In addition to providing guidance and participating in a wide variety of community projects in the area, Barbara was known across all of Hindley for brewing the most delicious beverage there is. This was the most significant thing she could have done for the community.
Barbara will be remembered as a wonderful lady who was also a true and respectable family person. It was abundantly evident how much she meant to Eric, her children, her grandchildren, and Eric’s extended family, and Barbara will be remembered as such. It was also obvious how much she meant to Eric’s extended family, which was a very touching sight to watch.
As a consequence of this, on behalf of myself, each and every one of my other councilor colleagues, and the people who live in our towns, I would like to send our most heartfelt condolences to Eric Alker and each and every member of his family during this difficult time. We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your loved one.
RIP BARBARA
After you have left this world, each and every one of us is going to miss you immensely.
