Terry Van Obituary, Death – The news of the passing of local Wisconsin racing legend Terry Van Roy has left us in a state of deep sadness. Everyone in the racing community will mourn his passing very deeply because he was well known on both dirt and asphalt. We feel extremely fortunate and honored to have won a championship at 141 Speedway in the same year as he did. It was a truly humbling experience to be able to share the victory podium with some of the most accomplished and historic racers Wisconsin has ever produced. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this difficult time. May he finally find peace.
I’m at a loss for words at the moment because I’m still trying to come to terms with the death of such an extraordinary soul. One who would help anyone, even complete strangers, one who could make a room brighter than the sun in a matter of seconds, one who was well-known to a large number of people, and one who passed away much too soon.
TVR, I want to express my gratitude for the nearly 25 years that you have been a part of my life. I appreciate the fact that you have never forgotten to send me a birthday or holiday message. I would like to thank you for giving me the door panels from your car every year and having me sign them; they now hang proudly in the garage. I want to express my gratitude for each and every one of the hugs that I received after the races. We expect to see you in the clouds, so we hope the paths there are clear and waiting for you. We are going to miss Rosie’s cheek smile, and we fear that racing will never be the same again.
