Roger Stoddard Obituary, Canadian Mental Health Association Mourns Roger Stoddard Passing

Roger Stoddard Obituary, Death – “The CMHA of New Brunswick is heartbroken to report the death of long-time Board member Roger Stoddard this week. Roger was a powerful champion in the mental health industry for decades and the CMHA of New Brunswick’s strongest supporter. Over the years, he served on the provincial and national boards of CMHA, supported the CMHA of New Brunswick amalgamation, pushed for health care in our province, and participated on numerous provincial and national committees. He gave up many of his personal hours for the cause because he thought that brighter days were ahead.

He believed in the work and employees of the CMHA of New Brunswick and was glad to be associated with it. He always complimented our work wherever he went. Roger held practically every position on the Board throughout his tenure. Roger’s love of conversation and enthusiasm for mental health advocacy had many of our colleagues laughing with him throughout the years. His sense of humour and laughter will be remembered by the CMHA of New Brunswick family for many years to come. Roger was in our Fredericton office for a Board meeting on November 26 and was enthusiastic about our future plans and a review of the previous year at CMHA of NB.

His pride and commitment will serve as a beacon for all of us working to improve mental health treatment in New Brunswick. During this difficult time, our thoughts and positive energy are with Roger’s loved ones. Roger, we shall miss your tenacity, passion, and sense of humour in the CMHA family… but we will keep striving for better. Your light will live on in our memories and the evidence of grit and resilience you exemplified.” May his soul rest in perfect peace. Our thoughts and positive energy are with Roger’s loved ones during this difficult time.
