Laurie Brietzke Obituary, Death – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Abbotsford on December 16, and immediately after the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the site of the accident in an attempt to avoid responsibility for the collision. As a result of the injuries she incurred in the collision, the pedestrian did not make it through the ordeal alive. The woman has been identified as Laurie Brietzke, and her age has been reported to be 47 years old, in accordance with members of her family. In addition to that, she is a mother of two sons. Brietzke had only recently relocated to Abbotsford from Kelowna in order to be closer to her fiance, who was already residing in Abbotsford.
A collision occurred at the intersection of Gladwin Road and Bevan Avenue on Friday evening about 7:45 o’clock. The locations of the crash are unknown. The driver of the vehicle that struck her made an attempt to get away from the scene of the accident; however, the authorities were able to track him down not too long after the incident took place. On Saturday, December 17, the police department issued a statement to the press claiming that the driver had been identified and that they were in the process of questioning them.
The statement also stated that the investigation was ongoing. In addition to that, the statement revealed that the inquiry was still active.
It was stated that Brietzke was transported to the hospital after she was hurt; unfortunately, she did not survive her injuries and passed away unexpectedly on December 18th. After sustaining her injuries, members of her family said that she was sent by ambulance to the nearest medical facility. Even though the investigation is still being carried out, a decision to bring charges against anyone has not yet been taken as of this point in time.
