Jeremy was born on November 24, 1976, at 11:24 a.m. in Minot, North Dakota, to Kimberly Kinn and Tony Lasher. He grew up on his grandparents’ farm near Lake Audubon before moving to Washburn and, later, Bismarck, North Dakota.
Jeremy obtained a certificate in heating and air conditioning from Bismarck State College. As a youth and throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. He began a yardwork company in his childhood and was named Young Business Entrepreneur in 1996. In 2003, Jeremy established Bismarck Landscaping and Services, which specialized in hydroseeding, fences, and retaining walls. He loved gardening and enjoyed giving tours of his home nursery. Tanya Tischer, Jeremy’s lifelong love, celebrated her 21st birthday on November 12, 1998. On her 22nd birthday, he proposed, and they married on September 16, 2000. They had two children, Brianna, a daughter, and Bryce, a son.
Spring and summer were work seasons, with a holiday for family and blasting fireworks on July 4th. In the fall, he enjoyed going hunting with his children in his built hunting blind west of Hazelton, as well as attending Century High and NDSU football games. Stuart, his mate, friends, and family spent the winter ice fishing. He loved making sausage, jerky, and bacon, creating his renowned knoephla soup, smoking brisket, baking innumerable desserts, and making sure there were always enormous cookies and hamburger doughy things (fleischkuechle) in the freezer.
