John Vogel Obituary, Death – John Vogel of Vancouver has unexpectedly passed away. John was born on March 5, in Perryville, Missouri to Donald Willard and Mildred Mary Lottes Vogel. His mother and father, as well as his brother Michael Vogel, all gone away before he was born. He was the only member of his family to have lived to adulthood. His children United States Air Force Major John Stephen Vogel, Jr. and his wife Joy of Phoenix, Arizona, and Chelsea Marie Vogel of St. Louis, Missouri; his grandchildren John Arthur and Emma Grace Vogel; the mother of his children, Jeanne Lattinville-Vogel of St. Louis, Missouri; and his siblings Ann Kornbelt and husband Don of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Kay Sauer and husband Dave of Perryville, Missouri, and Jane Cooper and husband Chip of Columbia, Missouri; all survive him.
John was born in Perryville, Missouri, and spent his childhood there until moving to St. Louis to attend the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, from which he graduated in 1978 with a degree in pharmacy. He had spent a large portion of his life in Chesterfield, Missouri, where the city is located. John was a doting father who was actively involved in his children’s life. In addition to serving as a Scout Leader and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, he taught his children in the many sports in which they competed. He was also recognized as an excellent Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America.
John openly declared his devotion to the Catholic faith and participated in services held at the Ascension Church in Chesterfield, Missouri. Some of his favorite activities to do in his spare time included being in the kitchen, playing golf, going hunting, and working with wood. Above all else, the time he got to spend with his loved ones was the thing he valued the most. In addition to being a kind neighbor and friend to a vast number of others, he was also a kind and compassionate father, grandpa, brother, son, and uncle.
