Jim McCoy Obituary, ESSA's Development Coordinator Jim McCoy Has Died

Jim McCoy Obituary,  Death – We regret to inform you of the passing of Jim McCoy, who was a beloved and well-respected member of the ESSA family. It is with heavy hearts that we share this news with you. Throughout his seven years as ESSA’s Development Coordinator, Jim’s dedication, kindness, caring heart, and selfless service to others has served as an example to each and every one of us and been an inspiration to us all.

Jim had served in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971 as a member of the 1st Air Cavalry Division. He was a veteran of that conflict. He was the primary impetus behind ESSA’s decision to begin its programming for veterans of the United States armed forces. Jim served in Vietnam. He had a natural talent for drawing and was far more knowledgeable about baseball than just about anyone else. He was an avid fisherman and had a lot of experience fishing. Jim was the kind of person who would lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need, and he delighted in sharing stories about his cherished children and grandchildren with others.

Jim could always be counted on to be the first person to volunteer for any task that needed to be completed, irrespective of the nature of the work that needed to be done. They have been a dynamic duo working behind the scenes to ensure the success of countless events and community fundraisers ever since Jim and Kathy retired in Eureka Springs in 2014. The year 2014 marked the beginning of their retirement. Because Jim and Kathy have been together for their entire adult lives, which began when they were both 15 years old, they are an extremely formidable couple.
Everyone at ESSA and in our community considered Jim a wonderful friend, and we are going to miss him tremendously in both of these settings because he was such a big part of our lives.
