Bobby Halton Obituary, Death – Chief (Ret.) Bobby Halton, editor in chief of Fire Engineering and Educational Director for FDIC passed away at his home in Oklahoma on Monday, December 19, 2022. Halton has been Fire Engineering editor for the past 18 years, during which time he has worked with us. The FDIC became the most successful and well-attended fire service instructional conference in the history of the globe thanks in large part to Halton, who worked as the leader of the editing team and played an important role in the process.

Although Halton was born in New York and spent a significant portion of his career as the head of departments in New Mexico and Texas, he is best remembered for the legacy he established in Indiana as a result of his leadership at the FDIC, which is hosted annually in the Circle City. Although Halton spent much of his career as the head of departments in New Mexico and Texas, he is best remembered for the legacy he established in Indiana.

Chief Halton was a graduate of the University of New Mexico, a former member of the International Association of Fire Fighters in good standing, a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and someone who has served on multiple technical committees for the National Fire Protection Association. In addition, Chief Halton was a member of both the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the International Association of Fire Fighters. He was an active member of several groups, including the National Fallen Firefighters Life Safety Initiatives as well as the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. In addition to his roles as an author, speaker, and supporter of the fire department, he was also a friend to a very large number of individuals.

According to the evidence that was presented by Battalion Chief Rita Reith of the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD), the former fire chief kept in constant contact with the IFD (IFD). He was a familiar presence at IFD events, and for nearly two decades, he served as the keynote speaker at the annual appreciation ceremony held by the department. According to Reith, Halton had scheduled himself to attend the IFD’s new training academy’s ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, and he was quoted as saying that he was “ecstatic” about the fact that the department was obtaining a dedicated center for training.

“He was a wonderful champion and friend of the Indianapolis Fire Department and the City of Indianapolis,” Reith said of the man. “He was a terrific friend of the city.” In addition to this, Halton was a close associate of WISH-TV, and he made several appearances on the morning program Daybreak over the course of several years. Dighton Moore Funeral Service in Owasso, Oklahoma is currently in the process of making funeral arrangements for a deceased person.
