Phyllis Schroeder Obituary, Death – Phyllis M. Schroeder, who resided in Lowell, Indiana, passed away at the Cedar Creek Health Campus located in Lowell, Indiana. She was 89 years old. She was the daughter of Jesse and Thelma (Doan) Lansdown and was born on February 5th, 1933 in Mount Carmel, Illinois. Her mother’s maiden name was Doan. Phyllis received her training in the beauty industry at Merrillville Beauty College after completing her studies at Griffith High School. She worked with Strack & Van Til in Highland, Indiana for a significant amount of time. In addition to that, she held the position of beautician at Hair Benders in Highland, Indiana.

Phyllis wed the man who would become the love of her life, Jack E. Schroeder, Sr., on September 23, 1950. Jack E. Schroeder, Sr. passed away on April 13, 1994. Phyllis was an active participant at the Rensselaer congregation of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Her hobbies of choice were dry brushing and ceramics creating. She also had a passion for crocheting blankets, which she used to make for all of her grandchildren. She was an active fisherwoman.

She is survived by her children, Jack (Laurie) Schroeder of Wheatfield, IN, Jeff (Patsy) Schroeder of LaPorte, IN, and Jayne Peterson of Morocco, IN; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy (Chris) Mihas of Highland, IN. Jack (Laurie) Schroeder and Jeff (Patsy) Schroeder both reside in Indiana.

Phyllis’s parents, husband, one brother, Bob Lansdown, one sister, Shirley DuVall, and one grandson, Jeff Schroeder Jr. all passed away before her. Phyllis’s grandson was named Jeff Schroeder Jr.

On Friday from 9:00 AM through 11:00 AM Central Time, visitors are welcome to pay their respects at the Jackson Funeral Chapel in Rensselaer. A Funeral Service will take place at Jackson Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM CT shortly after, and Pastor Marc Cohen will preside over the ceremony. After the service, the burial will take place in the Murphy Cemetery in Morocco, Indiana.
