Michael Hanley Obituary, Death – Michael William Hanley, who was born on May 26, 1955, and died on December 13, 2022, at the age of 67, fought a brave and recent battle against pancreatic cancer before passing away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Michael William Hanley was born on May 26, 1955, and he died on December 13, 2022, at the age of 67. Michael’s close relationships with his friends and family were the sources of the greatest joy and satisfaction that he took from his life. The most priceless presents in his life were undoubtedly those that he had received from his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He found that surfing in the ocean was the activity that allowed him to relax the most, and he made sure that his son inherited his enthusiasm for the activity. He went surfing in Costa Rica, Fiji, and Nicaragua, and he had a wonderful time in each of those countries, as evidenced by his glowing praise for those vacations. Over the course of more than a decade spent at Towne Bank, where he worked as the Director of Appraisal Services, he derived a significant amount of personal and professional fulfillment from his work. In addition to that, Michael was the proprietor of his own appraisal company for a sizeable portion of the time.
Michael’s wife, Debra, his daughter Kelsey (and her husband Stephen), his son Michael, and his granddaughter Grace are the only members of their family to survive him. In addition to his sister Barbara and her husband Alan, he is survived by his brother Joe and his wife Kim, his brother Tom and his wife Gail, and a large number of nieces and nephews. His parents, Joseph and Frances, as well as his sister, Kathy, all passed away before he was born. Also predeceasing him was his sister.
At The Attic at Waterman’s, which can be found at 415 Atlantic Avenue, a gathering to celebrate life will take place on Thursday, December 29, 2022. The date of the event has not yet been determined. Guests are welcome to pay their respects to the family at any time between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00, and they are free to come and go as they please during this time period. In lieu of traditional floral tributes, the family has asked for monetary contributions to be made to either the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
