Maxine Parrish Obituary, Death – On Sunday, December 18, 2022, Maxine F. Parrish, age 70, who had spent her whole life in the town of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, passed away abruptly at her home after apparently suffering a heart attack. She was the daughter of Jack and Dolly Haxton Jones, and she was born on the 20th of February in Olean, New York, in the year 1952. She was married to David E. Parrish, who passed away on December 31, 2003. The couple had been together for a long time. Maxine received her high school diploma from Coudersport High School.
Both Potter County ATA and Cole Manor in Coudersport provided employment opportunities for her when she worked as a bus driver for the former. In addition to that, she assisted her family at their produce stand, which was called Jones’ Produce and was located in Coudersport. In Coudersport, Maxine was active in the Gospel Tabernacle Church, which she attended regularly. She was an active participant in the activities of the Ladies Auxiliary of Potter Post 192 in Coudersport. Maxine and her son Shawn both volunteered their time at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, which was an organization that they were both highly involved with.
She was quite good at crocheting. Her family was her first and foremost love. Surviving family members include a sister, Marcia (Joseph) Lagrua of Coudersport; two sons, William J. (Victoria Gustafson) Parrish of Port Allegany and Shawn D. Parrish of Coudersport; three grandchildren, Haley M. Parrish, Morgan E. Parrish, and Brie L. In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by a brother named James A. Jones, who passed away on November 22, 2021. James A. Jones was Maxine’s only surviving sibling. There will be no public visitation in accordance with Maxine’s requests; she did not want this. The family will hold a private memorial service for their loved one. Coudersport is the location of the burial, which will take place in the family cemetery there.
