Marilyn Kent Obituary, Death – At the time of her passing on December 14, 2022, Hickory, North Carolina native Marilyn Meehan Kent was 95 years old. She passed away at the Kingston Residence, also located in Hickory. She was born in Berkshire County, Massachusetts on July 7, 1927. Her parents, William Meehan and Anne Wehry Meehan, both passed away before her birth. Since then, neither of her parents has survived to this day. Marilyn began her career as a laboratory technician after completing her education at Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts.
The college is located in the state of Massachusetts. In the year 1956, she made the move from Massachusetts to Lenoir, which is located in North Carolina. Both the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lenoir and the Caldwell Memorial Hospital, where Marilyn volunteered in her spare time, were places of worship that Marilyn regularly attended. Ceramics and the kitchen were two of her favorite things to do in her spare time. Her parents, her husband of 56 years, John E. Kent, and her son-in-law, Obery “Stephen” Miller, all passed away before she did. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband at the time of their marriage.
Diane Miller of Hickory, who is one of the family’s daughters, is one of the people who are still present to pay tribute to her memory. Terry Bevels, the spouse of Eileen Kent and their children, all hailing from Alexandria, Virginia.
