Leon McDaniel Obituary, Death – After the body of a man that had been burned was discovered inside a barn in the early hours of Sunday morning in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, an investigation into the incident has been opened. During this time, the barn was also engulfed in flames. The North Greenville Fire Department reported that they were called to a fire on Locust Hill Road on December 18 at approximately 7:07 in the morning. The North Greenville Fire Department was the one that initially discovered the blaze and called for help. Officials reported that the fire had been extinguished at 8:05 in the morning; however, the barn was still smoking, and fire crews were attempting to deal with the fallen metal roof at the time. It was 8:05 in the morning when it was reported that the fire had been extinguished.

As soon as the smoke was cleared away, the firefighters were able to locate the man who had unfortunately perished in the fire. Leon McDaniel, who had reached the age of 76 at the time of his passing, was able to positively identified as the deceased individual by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, which was able to make this determination. They also mentioned that an autopsy had found that smoke inhalation and thermal burns were the causes of McDaniel’s death and that the autopsy findings had been shown by the autopsy. The findings of the autopsy were mentioned in the previous sentence.

The authorities also stated that the barn gave the impression of being used as a workshop, with vehicles being stored inside. This information was included in their report. This was yet another issue that brought the parties into conflict with one another. There were a total of twenty firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and they came from several different areas, including Tigerville, Piedmont Park, and Lake Cunningham. As part of the ongoing investigation, the North Greenville Fire Department and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are both currently trying to determine what caused the fire.
