Gerald Coon Obituary, Death – Gerald H. Coon, Sr. 83, of Camden, NY; passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 18, 1939 in Utica, NY to Gerald G. Coon and Christine Rock. He was a 1958 graduate of Utica Free Academy. On December 30, 1960, he married Cynthia Klimek in Utica, NY. After graduating, Jerry enlisted in the United States Marines serving from February 1958 – August 1962. He worked as a Line Foreman for Niagara Mohawk for 32 years. After his retirement, he drove school bus for the Camden School district for several years.
Jerry was a past commander of the American Legion Arthur S. Moran Post #66 in Camden, NY. He coached the legion baseball team and was a member of the Bombers Softball team for over 30 years. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and the LZ Old Corps. #999. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and a New York Yankee fan. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Cindy; his parents; a grandson, Joshua Fox; three sisters, Jean, Geraldine and Helen; and sister-in-law’s, Barbara Curtis and Judi Klimek.
