Wendy Fraser Obituary, Bridgewater United Church Organist and Choir Director Dies

Wendy Fraser Obituary, Death – We want to express our deepest condolences to you on the loss of Wendy Jean Fraser, who was 66 years old and lived in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. She passed away recently. Wendy passed away on December 16, 2022, after a brief hospitalization during which her family was at her side when she exhaled her last breath. Her passing came after she had been in the hospital for a total of three days. Her surviving family members include her husband Peter Fraser, her children Simon Fraser, Stephanie Croft (Cody), and Samantha Goodfellow (Peter), as well as her grandchildren Niomi Croft, Neely Fraser, and Logan Croft. In addition, Tommy Boyd (Diane) and Sandra Carruthers, both of whom are his siblings, are counted among those who have made it (David).

Her sister Marilyn Nickerson and her parents Reverend Ellis Boyd and Edna Boyd all passed away before she was born. Her parents Reverend Ellis Boyd and Edna Boyd also passed away (Paul). Wendy was well-known across Lunenburg County for her various talents, including teaching music, playing the organ, and writing songs. She was a teacher for the entirety of her 33-year career. When she ran with former students, it was quite exciting for her to hear them gush over her musical abilities and remark how much they enjoyed attending her choir sessions around lunchtime. This gave her a lot of energy to look forward to the future.

When we first met Wendy, she was an experienced choir director in addition to being an accomplished organist. She had been playing the organ for the greater part of four decades. On the evening of Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening, there will be a visitation held at the chapel of Bridgewater United Church, which can be found at 87 Hillcrest Street, Bridgewater. The funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 1 p.m. in the Bridgewater United Church. The church can be found in Bridgewater at 87 Hillcrest Street.

The reception will follow immediately after that. Only burials of members of the deceased person’s immediate family will be performed at Brookside Cemetery in Bridgewater.
