He was the band’s very first bass player. It has been difficult to find the right words to acknowledge the fact that Jason Harding was the very first bass player that Tie Dye Volcano ever had, but it is imperative that this fact be brought to light because it is necessary. We are going to miss having him here with us.
We have had a lot of trouble coming to terms with his passing, particularly in light of the numerous tributes that have been paid to him by his many friends and bandmates not only in the Black Hills, but also across the entirety of the United States, for a life that was very richly lived but cut tragically short. We have had a lot of trouble coming to terms with his passing, particularly in light of the numerous tributes that have been paid to him by his many friends and bandmates not only in the Black Hills, but In spite of the fact that Jason lived a full and eventful life, his life was tragically cut short at a much earlier age than it should have been.
He was the kindest, funniest, and most talented person I’ve ever had the honor of getting to know. Incredible to hang out with and a delight to create music with, both singly and collectively. He was in charge of the low end from the very beginning, and he remained in that role for us right up until the day he graduated from Bridgewater State University and moved to Colorado to work with family in the restaurant business, which was another one of his many interests. He was interested in a wide variety of things, and operating restaurants was one of those things.
Jason, you are so special to us. During this trying time, each and every member of his family and friends, as well as the rest of his loved ones, are in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace.
