Claudine Roberts Obituary, Death – On December 14, 2022, Claudine Patsy “Pat” Roberts, who was 94 years old and a resident of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away in her home in Vandalia, Illinois. She called the town of Vandalia her home. Claud and Maude (Cunningham) Richardson were Pat Richardson’s parents. Pat was their daughter. Her birthday is October 26th, and she was born in Vandalia, Illinois. On May 17, 1947, she married Harold “Dean” Roberts, and the wedding took place in Vandalia, Illinois. Harold “Dean” Roberts became her husband. It was the 23rd of January in the year 2020 when he finally left.
Pat graduated from Vandalia High School in 1946, was a Homemaker, invented the world-famous Bonanza bread pudding, was awarded best employee, employee of the month, and employee of the year while working at Bonanza, was a member of Shafter Home Extension, was a cook and ran the kitchen at the Rehobeth Church Camp, was affiliated with Liberty Church in Bingham, Illinois, was a bookkeeper for Fredman’s Furniture Store in Vandalia, and taught Sunday School for many years
She is survived by her sons, David Roberts and Judy from Vandalia, Illinois, and Kenny Roberts and Kathy from Vandalia, Illinois; her daughters, Sue Roberts from Ramsey, Illinois, Cindy Laramee and Alan from Vandalia, Illinois, and Heidi Cade and Rich from Vandalia, Illinois; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Roberts, and her parents. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of Pat’s caregivers, but they feel it is especially important to highlight Sue Fitch’s contributions. Her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister all passed away before she did, and she was preceded in death by them.
Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Vandalia on Monday, December 19, 2022 at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating the ceremony. The date and time of the event have not yet been determined. The burial will take place at the Liberty Cemetery in Bingham, Illinois, following the conclusion of the service. Visitation will be held in the church on Monday, beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until 12:00 PM, two hours before the ceremony is scheduled to begin. The ceremony will start at twelve in the noon.
