Carol Dinius Obituary, 83- Year- Old, Huntington Carol Dinius Has Passed Away

Carol Dinius Obituary, Death – Carol S. Dinius, 83 of Huntington passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Waters of Huntington. She had previously worked for many years at Memcor in Huntington and, most recently, at Square D for over 20 years before retiring in 2001. Carol earned her high school diploma in 1957 and her beauty college diploma in 1959. She was an Evangelical United Brethren church member who had previously attended the Grayston Avenue and Good Shepherd United Brethren congregations. Carol loved to follow her Grandkids and family in all of their activities. She enjoyed crocheting and making lap pads and blankets for many people and groups.

Carol was a Pathfinder Big Sister to Cindy Smith for over 40 years, was a follower of the Pathfinders Bowling Club for many years, and served as their scorekeeper. Everyone referred to her as Grandma Carol! Carol Smith was born on December 8, 1939, in Huntington, the daughter of the late Gerald and Naomi (Rittenhouse) Smith. She married Earl F. Dinius on April 18, 1981, at the Good Shepherd Church in Huntington. In 1991, he died before she did. Jeff (Jody) Falk of Huntington is survived by two daughters, Belinda (Larry) Thacker and Brenda (Bret) Parker; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Karen Payne of Huntington, Sonja (Carl) Tabbert of Toledo, OH, Cheryl Miller of Fort Wayne, and Candy (John) Wajer of Huntington; and a sister-in-law, Alice Smith of Toledo, OH.

Ronnie and Randy Smith, her brothers, predeceased her. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., the funeral will be held at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. The burial will take place in rural Huntington County at the Old Lutheran & Union Cemetery.
