Bryon Newcomb Obituary, Death – On December 18, 2022, Bryon Douglas Newcomb passed away in the South Central Regional Medical Center. He had been a patient there for some years. He had 79 years under his belt. He was a resident of the Rustin Community, which is also where he made his home. It was in the city of Laurel, Mississippi, that he was born on June 19th, 1943. It is impossible to determine the exact date. Doug Newcomb’s parents, Byron C. Newcomb and Frances Wright Newcomb, raised him in the Rustin Community in Utah until he was an infant. Additionally, his grandfather’s name was likewise Byron C. Newcomb.
He spent his entire life working as a diesel technician for a variety of oil industry businesses. He did this work for the entirety of his career. He was employed by a variety of businesses throughout his career. He filled his spare time with a variety of activities, some of which included gardening, working with wood, and hanging out with his closest friends. Before he was born, his mother Frances Newcomb and his father Bryon C. Newcomb both passed away. One of his brothers, Charles Dean Newcomb, as well as one of his sisters, Joyce Ainsworth, and one of his brothers-in-law, Robert Ainsworth, also died before he was born.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Manning (and her husband Mark) of Laurel; his son, Bubba Newcomb (and his wife Jo Anna) of Soso; his grandchildren, Marissa Dickerson (and her husband Slade) of Laurel, Marcus Manning (and his wife Jana) of Laurel, and Josh Newcomb (and his wife Cena) of Soso; and one great granddaughter, Audrey Kate Dickerson of Laurel. He is also survived by his great Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandson.
Josh Newcomb, Slade Dickerson, Marcus Manning, Alvin Byrd, Mark Welch, and Ferrell Stroud have all stepped up to offer their services as pallbearers for the funeral service. On Monday, December 19, the Memory Chapel Funeral Home will be open for visitation beginning at five in the afternoon and continuing until seven in the evening. On Tuesday, December 20, at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon, a service will be performed at the graveside in the Fairview Cemetery that is located in the Rustin Community. The date and time of the event will be Tuesday.
