Brett Wyatt Obituary, Death – We regret to inform you that one of our very own alumni, Brett Wyatt, has passed away. He was a beautiful person, and our hearts are heavy as we share this news with you. As a result of Brett’s talents as a musician and an athlete, he was chosen to be a part of the Texas All State and GDYO teams for a period of four consecutive years. Between the years of 2007 and 2011, Brett was an active member of both the Philharmonic and the GDYO, performing with both groups throughout that time period. At this time, each and every member of his family, including his brother Clint Wyatt, who served in the past as a member of GDYO, is in our thoughts and prayers.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Samaritan’s Purse in honor of Brett. I’d like to extend my gratitude to @withrepost and @mylesblakemore for the reblog. The news that my college roommate, studio mate, and close friend Brett Wyatt had departed suddenly recently has left me in a condition of utter and full hopelessness. Our journeys were almost exactly the same, beginning with us playing in youth orchestras and ending with us enrolling in college.
As a direct consequence of the extraordinary talent that he possessed, I was inspired to continually work toward improving myself each and every day. I would not be the same person that I am now if we hadn’t happened to run across him. I owe a significant portion of who I am now to him. Because I feel like I let him down by not taking the opportunity while he was still alive to express how much his example meant to me, I truly regret that I did not take advantage of the occasion. I ask God to grant you the peace that passes all understanding. Brett
