Andrew Todd Obituary, Death – Andrew Todd of Manhattan Beach, California has passed away unexpectedly. Eugene Todd’s third kid, born on June 19, in Oak Park, Illinois, was the third of five children born to Eugene and Charlotte Todd. Andrew majored in Philosophy and Accounting at DePaul University in Chicago. He then went on to Michigan State University to study Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. Andrew and his father Eugene quickly got to work on Whiskey Creek Recreation. Andrew and his family have lived in Phoenix, Arizona, and Pentwater, Michigan for the last four decades. Andrew worked as a Real Estate Broker and Mortgage Broker for himself.

He and a business partner bought, built, and sold commercial real estate all over the Valley of the Sun. In Pentwater, Michigan, Andrew and his family run Lakewood Manufactured Home Park. His tenants were like extended family to him. Andrew was a certified scuba diver and a capable pilot who enjoyed flying as a child and scuba diving as an adult. Among his favorite diving memories were his repeated dives aboard the wreck of the Anna C. Minch when he was younger. Later in life, his most memorable diving trip was to Truk Island in the South Pacific Ocean, where he was able to dive for three weeks straight while investigating numerous Japanese wrecks.

His hobbies included woodworking, remote control plane flying, and building ship and airplane models. In Phoenix, Andrew was involved in a number of church and community organizations. Andrew’s family was the center of his life, and he was constantly and actively involved in his granddaughters’ lives, particularly their involvement in organized sports. He was adored and liked by the coaches and players’ families, and he attended and participated in practices for his granddaughters’ sports on a regular basis. His grandchildren called him ‘Pop-Pop.’

Andrew is survived by: his wife of fifty-six years, Mary Jo (nee Vanden Heuvel); his daughter, Elizabeth (Joe) Lockett; son, Michael; granddaughters, Madolynn Todd and Charlotte Lockett; sisters, Anastasia (Bob) Criscone and Cathy (George) Fox; brother, Mark (Mary) Todd; brother-in-law, Tom (Bridgette) Vanden Heuvel; sister-in-law, Scheryl Vanden Heuvel; many esteemed nieces and nephews; and his beloved granddog, Peanut. Andrew was predeceased by his parents, Charlotte B. Todd and Eugene L. Todd, brother, Michael Todd, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Josephine Vanden Heuvel, and brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Millie Vanden Heuvel, Gerald and Shirley Vanden Heuvel, and William Vanden Heuvel.
