Margaret Gray Emmel, At the age of 92, Margaret Gray Gemmell died away quietly on November 27, 2022. In Dalmuir, Scotland, on November 10, 1930, Margaret was born to Janet Jackson and John Main Jackson. At the age of 22, Margaret immigrated to Canada in 1955, when she met her future husband at the Palais Royale Dancehall (Alexander). After their return to Scotland, they welcomed daughters Janet (later Harry) and Sandra into their family. In 1966, they made their last move back to Scarborough, Ontario, where they continued to live their lives together and create priceless memories with their loved ones.
Margaret was a dedicated member of her church, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir, an avid sports fan, and cherished quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A beloved Nanny to Lester (Britt), Alexander (Julia), Michael (Lissa), Karla (Greg); Great-Nanny to Maxwell, Benjamin, Bianca, and Cooper; and sister to Janette (late Ronnie); aunt to Susan (Brian), Elizabeth, and Iain; and great-aunt to Connor and Adam.
