John Christopher Slattery 18 June 1934 – 23 November 2022 We joyfully commemorate John (Sean) Christopher Slattery’s peaceful departure on November 23, 2022, in Toronto’s Kensington Gardens. Roisin Gleeson, Niamh Walsh, Carol Slattery, and Ronin Slattery are the nieces and nephews that John leaves behind. Brother Joseph Slattery, sister-in-law Teresa, and nephew Eamon Slattery all predeceased him. John spent his formative years in Dublin before relocating to London, England, in search of better career possibilities. He was born on June 18, 1934, in Limerick, Ireland. His reputation as a rapid learner led to his immigration to Canada after a number of years, where he worked at Fisher Scientific before joining the faculty at the University of Toronto.
John was a very active member at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Toronto and did volunteer work bringing the Mass to residents at nearby Fudger House. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes, 520 Sherbourne St., Toronto, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 10 a.m. www.rosar-morrison.com
